Its time to crown the two conference champions in the NFL and see who moves on to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. These playoffs have been interesting as we've had teams get hot and others who we though were super loose, some very good football games.
Championship Game: Picks
1) In the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens will travel to New England. The Ravens have a solid defense and a probably a more complete team overall, although their offense can be hit or miss at times. The Patriots lack much of a defense but can put up a record number of touchdowns. I don't see the Ravens being able to stop the Patriots and Tom Brady long enough to score, their own points. I'll pick the New England Patriots (-7) to beat the Baltimore Ravens at home and punch their ticket to Indy. NE Patriots -7
2) In the NFC, the New York Giants travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers. Both teams are very complete and will be healthy for this game. The last time these teams played it came down to a batted ball when Eli Manning was trying to drive the Giants down to tie the score. Alex Smith (SF/QB) has grown up a lot now that he is in the right offense, but he is after all young and in basically the first year of the Jim Harbaugh offense. This game may come down to the last play again but I think the veteran Eli Manning and his explosive wide receivers, will make more plays then the younger Smith. Both teams have defenses that will bend, but not break. I'll pick the NY Giants (+2.5) on the road to beat the San Francisco 49ers and punch a ticket to Indy. NY Giants +2.5
